The search for accommodation, whether in university residences of the University of Porto or in private accommodation is up to the student. Here we identify some entities that offer accommodation in Porto specifically for higher education students. The School only intends to facilitate the access of its students to this information, not assuming any responsibility arising from any contacts that its students may have with these entities.

University Residence

The University of Porto has 9 university residences for the accommodation of its students, with priority being given to scholarship holders covered by the Scholarship System who, due to distance or difficulty of transport, cannot reside with the family during the school year.

Solidarity scholarships

AAAFEP, in the framework of its partnership with FEP, AEFEP and SASUP, has launched a Solidarity Programme which aims to financially support underprivileged students of the Economics or Business Administration Degrees of FEP. This support consists of an annual subsidy equal to the amount of the approved tuition fee for the respective school year.

Social Action Plan (PAS)

It is a programme of FEP’s Students Association, which aims to support students with scholarships or economic needs, through the offer of the AEFEP membership card and several discounts, namely in the School bar and in the Printing House.

Gulbenkian Mais Scholarships

Aim to support the academic training of young people of recognised merit and high potential, who have scarce economic resources to pursue their studies at bachelor or master level.

The Gulbenkian Mais Scholarships corresponds to the amount of 3000 euros per school year (10 months, i.e. 300 euros per month) in the case of students displaced from their place of habitual residence, and 1500 euros (10 months, i.e. 150 euros per month) for non-displaced students.

Future Santander scholarships

Aimed at university students with limited economic resources – enrolled in a Higher Education Institution sponsored by Banco Santander and adherent to the programme – and who are determined to pursue or finish a cycle of academic career.

Students from universities and institutes all over the country that have partnerships with Santander Universities, such as the University of Porto, may apply. Eligibility criteria for scholarships include proven unemployment through registration with the IEFP – Instituto do Emprego e Formação Profissional (Employment and Professional Training Institute).

U.Porto Card

It looks like any other card, but it is much more than that. Made possible through a partnership with Bank Santander Totta, Cartão U.Porto is an ID card for any member of the academic community of the University of Porto (students, teachers and administrative staff). It allows privileged access to an extensive range of University of Porto services and those of partner institutions.

To request the registration declaration for renewal of the SUB23 pass, please access the website of ‘Transportes Intermodais do Porto’.
On this page you must indicate the University of Porto, perform the required federated authentication – through the access to the SIGARRA system, and then indicate your ANDANTE number or the mobile phone number associated with the App ” Anda”.
The TIP system is integrated with SIGARRA, sending the necessary data for the Sub23 Declaration, which should be digitally signed in the Digidoc platform.
